AutoCorrect Options is a fast way to create a basic macro. I find it is easier and quicker to use than the Macro feature.
It is simple to use. Type The McKee Company and highlight it. Go to your toolbar, click on "Tools" and click on "AutoCorrect Options". In the right-hand field (titled "With"), it will have The McKee Company. In the left-hand field (titled "Replace"), type ztmc. Any time you want to type The McKee Company, type the code ztmc, hit the space bar and the code will populate The McKee Company.
Use AutoCorrect for single words you use frequently (i.e. sincerely, approximately, etc.). I have found it best to start the code with the letters "Z" or "x". You don't want the code to spell an actual word because every time you type the word, the replacement will appear instead of the word. I worked with one company where a staff member had created the code SKOG to populate the name of an organization. A few months later they landed a new client named Skog. So every time "Mr. Skog" was typed, the name of the organization populated. That is why it's a good idea to start codes with the letters "x" or "z".
